420blazeit snoop
Started listening to some snoop dogg this week and it's really awesome to hear such a relaxing voice rap. It's alot unlike any of the other rappers today who all seem angry...he's pretty rizzle, my nizzle. Also I found this really awesome picture of him wearing a cool hat and I set it as my skype profile picture. There's something about the way you feel when you listen to his voice like it makes you want to nod your head and keep listening. Can't wait until we get into 90's rap in your class Mr. A, can't wait
Hendrix
I thought that the guitar playing that we listened to in class was really cool and nice but all of the songs had no lyrics and I think that really bothered me. Like all of the songs were super long and honestly all I could bring myself to do was play on my phone. The guitar was fun and stuff but it really lacked what lyrics bring to the table. I feel like maybe if I liked instrumentals more that it would've been really good but it totally didn't do it for me. I mean I like instrumentals but not that kind, more drum and bass. I thought that his outfit was really cool and so was his hair, but music, it was interesting but not the kind of stuff I'd listen to on my own.

Bob Dylan: Hypnosis mastermind or Evil Genius?????
Just listened to some Bob Dylan....Wow, that was horrible and I wish I hadn't clicked on that link. WHAT IS ON HIS FACE IN THIS VIDEO? I have a lot of trouble listening to and understanding the lyrics when his voice is this strange. It's not even the good strange, I might be able to sing better than that. God I need to go back to my music, or the Beatles, anything but Bob Dylan. Can we please never ever listen to a Bob Dylan album ever ever ever? I can't deal with this level of talent
CATCH UP TIME IS FINALLY OVER MR A.
Had Pet Sounds on for about 10 minutes now just sort of playing in the background while I type these six blogs and it's actually really relaxing and I think the Beach Boys might be my new study music. It's pretty damn relaxing. Same with Sgt Pepper's, it's crazy to think about how they came out with this music 50 years ago and it's still good today. Gonna look up some of that Nirvana you told us about in class because you said it was really good. Here's some cool tunes
MAKEUP4
I think I have an obsession with bass. For some reason songs with a lot of bass just make me want to feel every feeling in the world. Whenever I'm sad they're good, whenever I'm happy they're good, I mean there's never a time where they aren't perfect for my mood. Mrsuicidesheep's channel is my favorite if you're interested. A lot of EDM and bass filled songs that really just go on repeat every day when I get home. They don't really get old for some reason either, it's weird. Here's a really cool song....
MAKEUP 3 (CLASS)
After hearing Eleanor Rigby I felt like I was in a different dimension. First thing I did when I got home? Looked up that song. Maybe I heard it a lot as a kid and it really just means a lot to my dad and that's why I like it so much? I can't even remember nor do I care to, all I know is it's an amazing fucking song and it makes me smile every time I hear it. I feel like no song in any other album is like that song. It melts my brain melt.
MAKEUP1 (CLASS)
Pet sounds was a really cool album. I thought it had a lot of interesting aspects of it and it changed throughout... One of the only other albums that I actually enjoyed along with Revolver and Sgt Peppers. I think Brian Wilson's voice is really good and I think they sound more put together than the first Beatles album we listened to, it sounds nice. Along with it's combined nature I feel like all the extra sounds and noises that they add really make the album special.

SOMETHING INSPIRATIONAL ?
So recently I've been really thinking about how music has really been a life raft for me. Being a shithead little teenager I understand that I have my ups and downs, well, mostly downs. I have no idea what I'm doing right now with my life, much like most of the kids at our school, and whenever I feel shitty I enjoy taking a load off, sitting down at my computer and just tuning out the world with music. Sure it helps to have other distractions like video games, but music is something that can be individual, a hope, a dream, whatever you want it to be. That's what's great about it, whether you're happy, sad, angry, emotional, or just don't feel like doing anything, music will always be there, it'll always help you think about things clearer.
Help Movie
While everybody thought that Help was boring, during the parts I did actually watch...I thought it was kind of funny actually. It's really ironic and satirical humor that a lot of people don't get but for some reason is really funny to me. Probably because I'm an asshole. But anyway, I digress. I'm trying really hard to remember some of the stuff we talked about in class but honestly none of it is really coming to me. I've just got too much bullshit crammed into my head right now to the point that, if I even looked in a mirror I wouldn't know what I was looking at. I don't know what I'm even trying to do with this blog other than to tell whoever is reading it (other than Mr. A) that things aren't always what they're cracked up to be, and it goes both ways, sometimes everyone can think something is absolute shit but you know that to you, it means something. So yeah, maybe I'll watch the entire movie next time.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZER
After hearing some of The Who I also wanted to check out some other British bands, which led me to Weezer. I had a shirt I wore when I was kid that said WEEZER across the chest and I never really knew what it was from I just thought it was funny because I had asthma...go me. I remember teachers saying "whoa ben you know of weezer?" And I'd always say yeah and pretend I knew what they were....but really, Weezer is awesome you should check em out
They're actually not that bad
So after hearing The Who in class, I decided to go home and look up some of their stuff. After some youtube searching I found one of my old all time favorites, Baba O'Riley. And by that I mean a song I was listening to since I was 12 and I never even realized it was by The Who. I think what I like about the song is the noises that they blend into the song to make it sound like more is going on and it just sounds really awesome to me. The lyrics are good too, which is always a plus.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY5rztWa1TM

DIZZY SWIZZY SWAGGY
These kids on my bus were playing this rap and I laughed my ass off through like half of the songs so when I got home I looked up the rapper, Dizzy Wright. Just listening to this makes me laugh my ass off because he isn't even speaking English but the beat is amazing so it's actually not that bad to listen to. I think that's how most rap nowadays is anyway it's just beats and then some guy sort of saying words but not really enunciating anything. Funny to think about how rap has changed over the last 20 years.
The rolling CRAP
I still can't get over how bad The Rolling Stones sounded on their first album. Honestly I thought they were really good just based on what other people said about them, and maybe it's just their first album but they sounded so awful. From the 60's I also looked up Black Sabbath and it sounded really cool. That first Rolling Stones song made my ears hurt. There was only one song that I thought was okay and it was the only one that wasn't a cover.

Tyler the Creator
So this week I really got into Tyler the Creator because a friend played some song by him and I just really enjoyed it. I think it's his voice but I just really enjoy the sound of it all, like the flow and how it's sort of just fun to listen to. I'm interested in what you think of him so let me know. Also I found a new "Purity Ring" A group called Holy Other and their music is so chill it's fantastic. I think I like it better than Purity Ring and it's just really relaxing and I think that they do a lot of things well.
Grimes (Late)
So after hearing about how shitty Grimes performed at ACL I decided I would look them up and see what kind of music they played. I thought it was really weird honestly, and I didn't much like it and I can see how live that would be AWFUL. Another band from ACL I looked up was Dana Falconberry and I thought they were really good. I heard Paper Diamond and Kendrick were incredible and I really wish I could have been there. I also love how we always go back to the Beatles, they never get old. I love this class.
Ps sorry these blogs are late I typed them up and was out and just completely forgot to submit them

chillaximus prime
I fell in love with a lot of stuff on the acl list. I think listening to purity ring was beautiful. It's the chillest music ever I swear it makes me feel great and I wish I could embed it for you to listen to, I will later.. their music is so perfect and it justmakes me want to lay down and take a nap. I really like Your singing though, and you can sing really high like reggi watts, just thought I'd say it.
classy ass class blog
I didn't really have a good time watching that movie. I thought it was pretty boring.Sadly I can't go to acl which I was really looking forward to.... I thought reggi watts was fucking hysterical though even though some people didn't get the humor. It was really funny to me though. His hair and his beard were funny enough on their own. From the acl list I would have to say purity ring is my favorite band I would have loved to see them

The beatles movie again again
Really enjoyed the subtle humor hidden in the movie we watched and also I liked the music they played in the background to match the scenes. For the people who enjoyed the Beatles I advise you to check out the Police because they're pretty similar in my opinion and they sound really good. The lead singer is Sting ( who mr A opened for ) and my dad met their drummer Andy Summer. Message in a Bottle is a song all of you have probably heard and it's really dope. Check out some of their songs it's worth it.
mrsuicidesheep
Expanding on what I asked you to play in class, here's some more "chillstep" that I really like listening to. I love blasting while I play video games and I think that even for people who are just listening to the music to listen to it can enjoy it. It's really just relaxing and to me it sort of makes me think about life....if that makes any sense.. I think you should give it a try because I really feel like it's completely changed the way I think about music and it could do the same for you. The channel is mrsuicidesheep and it's full of really chill music I think everyone except Ryan can enjoy.

Beaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatles again
So in the music I'm into...It kind of blends old music into new and takes old songs and adds in beats and new voices and it's really cool. I think it's kind of like what the Beatles did with combining the tapes to create new sounds but in a different way. It's just like what we were talking about in class on Wednesday about how stuff always comes back, and I think this is where it's come back. It's really chill music
Pasta- Gods food
This week I ate pasta 3 times. I went through a bottle of red sauce and half of the minced garlic container. Like, best food ever. Then you get some buttered bread sprinkle a little bit of salt on there, and BAM you got yourself a great meal. Red sauce is just so godly and meat Tortellini it's just amazing. and this is what you find when you look up tortellini song what in the hell is going on in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6PSEWnVOzM

Twist and Shout
So I really liked Twist and Shout and didn't even realize that the Beatles covered it until you said it in class. I always thought the Beatles wrote it..I've liked that song since I was like 10. It just makes you want to do things and I really like songs that make you want to dance..haha..Also the White Album is really special to me because it's my grandpas favorite album of all time and he listens to that and Frank Sinatra non stop it's ridiculous actually he should probably calm down. So I can't to get to hair metal because I feel like I'm going to love your rants. Should be an exciting week.

COMEDIANS CAN RAP?!
So I found CHILDISH GAMBINO today and my life is changed this is the best rapper I've ever heard he deserves an award. He's the comedian from Community and he was a writer on 30Rock and I just find it so weird that he's a comedian and a rapper. HE'S SO GOOD. This stuff is so dope I downloaded like 30 songs the second after I heard the album. Enjoy.

Loud noises and why I tolerate them
I was looking through all of my old bookmarked youtube pages, and I found one of my old favorite dubstep songs. I listened to the song a couple of times and then I went through their list of songs, until I found this bad boy. Holy crap I was laughing my ass off the entire time. It's probably the funniest music video I've ever seen. Badass though. You'll probably hate the music but the video is freaking hilarious. This kid turns into the baddest of asses.
THE BEATLES
Allllllllright... So today in class we talked about the Beatles. I kind of just listened to them growing up as a kid on CD because my dad is an INSANE Beatles fan. So getting into my dads car with Beatles a'blazin wasn't an unusual thing. I would have to say that Hey Jude was his favorite song, he knew the words and would sing every time. For me, Come Together would have to be my favorite. I think what I really like is the rhythm of the song and how the clapping goes along with it so well. You've probably heard it and know exactly what I'm talking about but here's the link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfI4111pc0s
Friday, August 30, 2013
So I'm guessing this is my class related post. Looking back at the ACL list I saw a band I know, Bright Light Social hour. My parents friends son is the bass player and really that's the reason I started listening to them but they're not bad. The combination of sounds is just like really fucking awesome...and all in all it's just really chill to listen to. link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otE8hxRaCVg Also I made bacon on the stove today and it was really good so thanks for the idea
Thursday, August 29, 2013
so I have no idea if this is the kind of thing that you want posted on these blogs, but today I was having a really good day and then something happened that I probably shouldn't talk about on here....but anyway I've been playing my music at its maximum volume for the last 3 hours in the dark with headphones and I think that it's the one thing that keeps me sane. Like the feelings just melt away and all I have to hear or think about is music and I love that.

Role of music
I would say I probably listen to music around 5 hours a day. Whether it's while I'm riding the bus or while I'm playing video games it's always just kind of my get out of jail free card. Just a daily distraction to keep me interested on SOMETHING. Playing games without music is like drinking water without ice, and I never drink my water without ice. The repetition sometimes gets a bit stale but it doesn't really matter to me, I just keep playing and keep listening to the same You tube channel that I have been for the last year or so now. It's kind of something that I really take for granted but I'm very glad I have.
