Coldplay

Alright so I really like the new Coldplay album. Coldplay is a mystical journey through the mind of Chris Martin, his innovative song lyrics mixed with strong drum rhythms let the listener dive into an alternative rock universe. Coldplay's newest album is probably one of my favorite albums. The song Magic can be attributed to Chris Martin's ability to do actual magic. Haha. All in all Coldplay is super sweet and I love listening to their music when I'm driving.

Suicidal Thoughts - Notorious B.I.G

Another friend showed me this really depressing song, Suicidal Thoughts by Notorious B.I.G and I thought it was a crazy good song. The lyrics, the beat, everything in that song is on point. It's pretty depressing if you listen closely to the lyrics but if anything that makes it a better song. It sounds so real, I don't know any other way to describe it other than it sounds real to me. Too bad he's dead. Here's the song though

Iggy Azalea

So thinking back to the day that we talked about Iggy Azalea, I really didn't like her music. I thought that her songs were just crazy pop-y and I didn't think it was good at all. I mean she has a really good voice and I like the way she sounds but the lyrics are really poor and the beats are really shitty. While I think that her music is really crappy I would definitely see her in a show because she's crazy attractive. About all I have to say about Iggy Azalea

Incredibox

Incredibox is the greatest music game ever. You can combine all of the different sounds to make a song and it's so freaking cool. I mean at least for the first 15 minutes it is. I'll link you the game so you can try it but it's honestly so cool, here's the link, not much to say about the game other than to show it to you

End of School!!!

I'm so stoked that summer is about to be here. I can't wait to not have to do anything this summer this school year has been way too hard. I felt so stressed for like half of the year and now that it's finally over it doesn't seem real. I've had a good year, liked mostly all of my teachers, did all of my shit, and now I'm just happy it's over. HAVE A ROCKIN SUMMER MR A

The Killers

So a friend last week showed me an old band that I used to love, The Killers. The first song he showed me was Mr Brightside and I remember that was my favorite song when I was younger. After I got home I decided to listen to more and next thing I knew the only thing I was listening to was The Killers. I would say that my favorite song out of all of their well known songs is Shot at the Night because of how damn catchy it is. Every time I hear it it gets stuck in my head the rest of the day. Great band.

Cell Phones

This new cell phone policy has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. While I think that the policy itself is sound and reasonable I think that their reasons for doing it are ridiculous. I mean taking away people's cell phones at school is not going to stop cyber bullying, or any bullying for that matter, and all it actually does it piss people off. I mean when students are in class they should be learning, not on their cell phones, however I think that there are certain times in certain classes where it shouldn't matter if you're on your phone or not. Phone use should really be an issue of time and place and teachers' preferences, not a schoolwide ban on cellphones during "instructional time". What's especially ridiculous is this new rule about taking away kids cellphones when they go to the bathroom...I mean...what am I going to do? Go to the bathroom to cyber bully people? Anyone who'd actually do that needs more than just their cell phone taken away. They need some serious help.

Happy

I can't take that stupid Pharrell song anymore I've heard it so many times between my mother and the radio. I haven't even heard the entire song but whenever I turn my car on the radio goes on first so I have to switch it to aux/tape but I can hear the song for a brief 3 or 4 seconds and it's ALWAYS on every station. I mean it's not even that bad a song but I can't stand hearing it anymore. Even if I get away from it in the car my mom feels the need to play it in the house because it's "such a great and happy song" and  I seriously cannot do it anymore.

Cunninlynguists

So I found Cunninlynguists the other day and I really like their album, Strange Journey Volume 3. They rap with enunciation and all of their lyrics make sense which definitely raises them on my list. I'm really glad I found them because I was listening to them all weekend and they're the shit. Here's my favorite song by them I think you will like it a lot it's got a really nice background beat and the rappers on it are fluid and it sounds great as a whole.

Danny Brown

I was listening to an old Danny Brown song that I've been listening to for the last year or so and I saw his album and decided to give it to try. The album I saw was Old and I heard it all the way through three times and I think it's my new favorite album right now. He's got such a weird voice and it's like Chance the Rapper but I think Danny's lyrics are way better. The songs on that album range from one end of the spectrum to the other and not a single one of them is skippable to me.

Spotify

I finally downloaded the free version of Spotify and I'm actually really impressed. It's a lot easier to use then MoG even just using the free version Spotify which forces me to shuffle on everything. It's a cleaner setup than MoG and it runs a lot smoother in my opinion. The only thing I don't like about the free version of Spotify is that sometimes it doesn't have the albums that I want to listen to....All in all Spotify is pretty awesome and I'm glad I finally started using it.

Paolo Nutini & Sam Smith

So from what you showed us in class I really enjoyed Paolo Nutini and Sam Smith. I really thought that out of everyone that we listened to from the links on the ACL page, these two had the best raw talent. Despite disliking Sam Smith after I first heard it, it really grows on you. I've listened to now 3 of his songs and I really like all of them. They're all just so clean, nothing else is there except his voice and it's fantastic. Paolo is more upbeat I think I've listened to his album twice now and it's kind of uplifting, I think my favorite song is These Streets.

ACL lineup

To prefice this blog, I'm probably not going to ACL even though I'd love to. I've heard from abunch of people that the lineup for this year is crazy good with eminem and lorde andskrillex and a bunch of other artists. I mean I'd probably see everything I possibly could because Ive never been to see live music in that type of setting. To me the lineup looks pretty good and I'd probably see eminem and zedd and I really liked the song that you showed us of Spoon. Actually going to listen to more of them, they sounded really together as a band and that clip was probably at least 3 years old, so they're probably even better now. Seems like it's gonna be a pretty good ACL this year.

Ice JJ fish

So you've probably seen a bunch of blogs about this but Ice JJ fish is that terrible singer that everyone knows for how bad he is. He's exactly like that Asian guy from American Idol in 2004 who sang that "she bangs, she bangs" song.  Oh man that shit was hysterical. I mean there's even shirts for Ice JJ fish! The guy has probably made thousands of dollars off just singing horribly! Maybe I should think of a career in music. I mean when you think about people like you, Mr. A who put in so much work into making music great, it just makes me sad that other people can do it so poorly and make so much money.

How I feel about songs in albums that are just noise

So there was this one song in the Nirvana album that for about 5 minutes was just screeching and guitar and I really felt that it took away from how good that album actually is. I think it's funny that the album is considered so great, even with that song. Nirvana is a really good band and I get that sometimes they just want to jack around and do funny things but it was just stupid. I hated that song and I don't know why they'd put that into any album.

What I listen to

Whenever I'm at home I always find it funny how I change from genre to genre. There's literally no correlation. I just listen to whatever I feel like hearing and that definitely changes constantly. I'll go from HipHop to stuff like chillstep and then to rock and then to stuff like the Beatles. It should probably be really weird for someone to switch from one of those genres to another, but for me it's just kind of normal because I've been doing it ever since I've had a computer.

Biggie And Tupac

I think that Biggie and Tupac are both really good hip hop artists. I enjoyed the documentary for the most part except for the white British guy who explained everything, I thought that the white British accent really took away from the documentary because Biggie and Tupac are supposed to be really kind of cool and that accent was definitely the antithesis of cool. They both have really cool voices and from what I've seen of their live performances and albums, they're pretty good.

Gary Busey

I saw a commercial earlier today that I'm pretty positive you'll enjoy. It has Gary Busey!!!!! Now I know that you probably don't even know anything about him with your lack of T.V. and all, but I don't even think it matters because it's hilarious. Best commercial I've seen in my entire life. Here it is

Fleetwood Mac

I really enjoy Fleetwood Mac because their music is really happy and energetic. They have a really nice and interesting combination of sounds and voices which make for a really good group. The album also has some really nice guitar solos like in the end of their first song, Secondhand news. I feel like the album is a mixture of different genres and it's really good. Here's the album

Simon and Garfunkel

Simon and Garfunkel are pretty awesome. I remember my mom used to listen to them when I was younger but I never really knew who they actually were. But their album Bridge Over Troubled Water is really calming and I definitely enjoyed it. I feel like this was played in every Prom from 1971-1980 because it's good slow dance music. Overall, they have really nice voices and a really good album altogether.

I should have tried harder in school

I think it never really kicks in how much harder you could have worked until it's too late. I mean I just took the SAT for the first time last month and it's crazy how much more I could have prepared for it. I mean I worked my ass off freshman and sophomore year but this year I feel like I couldn't care less. Yeah, junior year, the most important year is the year I stop caring. Super smart. I'm probably going to have to actually focus senior year (which is going to be even harder)  to get into a decent college. Shit. Highschool sucks

Nirvana

Nirvana was really awesome to listen to. I've heard it before but I just never really knew it was Nirvana. I liked it a lot and it was super nostalgic because I used to hear it on the radio. I saw an interview of the baby on the cover of Nevermind and the kid was like 17 and it was just a story of how he found out and I thought it was really interesting how that was an actual kid. I mean, of course I knew it was an actual person but imagine if that was you and how jaw dropping that experience of finding it out would've been. Anyway, Nirvana is awesome and we should listen to another album.

St Vincent

I saw St Vincent on the Colbert Report a couple weeks back and the first time I heard it all I could think of was how much I was going to hate the music of the future. I mean what is going to happen when I'm 30? Is the music just going to be beeps and boops or what. Part of me really wants to find out but part of me wants no part of it...I mean I guess you probably had some of the same fears growing up but I've never really thought about it. I guess the music of my generation must sound incredibly weird to you huh. Maybe I'll like the shitty music of the future, or maybe it'll be good, who knows.

Hair Metal

So you showed us Hair Metal a couple of weeks ago and I thought I'd hate as much as you seem to but I actually don't mind the music at all, in fact I kind of enjoy it. Their outfits and the way the music videos are made seems a little weird but of course you of all people should know that what it looks like shouldn't matter, only what it sounds like. Although the music video for "We're not gonna take it" was pretty damn amazing, I do agree with you on the fact that their hair looks ridiculous and they resemble angry women.

Tame Impala

This week a friend showed me a group called Tame Impala and I'd heard them before and they REALLY reminded me of the Beatles and I think you'd really like them. They seriously sound like a toned down version of the Beatles to me. Sorry this is a short blog but I don't know what else to really say.

Jurassic 5

I really liked the song you played for us today, "We see a coming war." The artist tells a story throughout the song and raps about current events like fighting, racial tension, people dying from cigarettes, and religion. He had a good sound and he spoke clearly and enunciated, making it a pleasure to listen to. The lyrics made sense which is always a plus, the rhythm sounded solid, and his voice was good. Before you played Jurassic 5 you played a song by a similar band and I'm not sure who they were but I liked their music too, mainly because of the beats. I'm glad we've gotten to hip hop.

rhyme and punishment

I enjoyed the rapper movie more than any of the other movies we watched. I felt like it was a lot more interesting, probably because I listen to a lot of rap music. I thought it was cool how the video related going to prison to rap artists. Learning about the history of rap is cool to me and I think we should watch more videos about cool shit. The narrator was also pretty badass.... Oh, I also liked all of their rapper names they made me laugh so not only was it informative but it was funny.

School

I literally spent the entire period thinking about the question Mr A asked. What was the last thing I learned on my own? It brought me to the conclusion that school has made me fucking stupid. I don't learn anything on my own. It's actually kind of sad that the last things I've learned are full of things school forces me to learn. Im gonna make an effort to maybe not be so lazy and actually learn something.. I mean if I don't learn on my own and school ends after college then what the fuck am I going to do?

On another note I think the Ramones are annoying and I hate the song blitzkrieg bop.

Tosha bashing us

First of all if Tosha is reading this I totally feel where you're coming from and I definitely don't take it personally like some of those other guys. I don't really get where they're coming from about being mad at you because that's your opinion? I mean getting mad at someones opinion definitely doesnt make sense because people are going to believe what they want and you can't stop them.. I dunno I enjoyed the music most of them played((((not Christian))))) but that's just me. I enjoyed what he played and I think anyone can think whatever the fuck they want. Sure I didn't like some of the music that was played, and personally I wouldn't blog and call it trash but he has a right to express whatever the fuck he wants to. Also I dig his hat.

Songs I played in class

The two songs I played were 25 bucks by Danny Brown and it wasn't me by Shaggy, two of my all time favorites. The Danny brown song is from the album old and then I'm sure you know all about the shaggy song where he gets caught having an affair. I think that all of thesongs we've heard so far have been awesome except for chrisitians, of course. This is a cool activity. We should do this like every couple of weeks so we can hear new songs I think it would be really cool to do more of it.

Other peoples taste in music

I was 100% feeling that Black Sabbath song Connor played. I thought it was fucking awesome and it wasn't what I was expecting from him after we saw his show on YouTube. But definitely makes me want to go home and listen to Black Sabbath because that shit was amazing. Also I liked Gavin's Eazy E song because that song is a classic and every couple of months someone plays it and it's always awesome.

first class

So I'm gonna write a blog about food because I've been eating an excessive amount of it. I've finished a package of oreos, m&m cookies, and pita chips in the last two days. How someone can eat that much food I don't even know, but that's how I've been feelin. Literally all this course sheet and college stress has me going crazy. I haven't even been doing my blogs. It's pretty funny. I even quit video games so all I do is listen to music and chill, weird lifestyle but I see why people like it. It's simple.
So my dad's playing at this international violin competition in a couple months and supposedly it's a huge deal. My dad said that he was playing with a world famous Japanese violinist for the concert, and that it's gonna be a competition of some of the worlds greatest violinists. I overheard my dad playing some of the music from the concert and I gotta say it was really good. My dad said that he was pretty excited for the concert and that it was the first time this competition has been held in this hemisphere and that it's a big honor. Watching my dad play is actually really cool so you should come check it out

songs from the past?? final makeup

So I remembered my favorite song from my childhood. Into the ocean by Blue October. I remember getting on the elementary school bus with my CD player, feeling like a bad ass because I had one with my blue October CD and my headset. Man it's so weird to think that at one point that was me but it really was. Like me music has change Into some weird shit, probably why you don't dig it as much as we do, but for us it's the future. BANG BANG chief keef 3 hunna

oskar schuster makeup

I've sort of been going back and forth from the rap that I like to ...well to something that doesn't really make too much sense, classical piano. I found this guy named Oskar Schuster who plays really cool piano songs. My favorite is probably Matilda I've heard it like 30 times and it still is so awesome I get so relaxed every time I hear it. Well anyway I also like classical violin, so I guess I'm more into my dad's music then I let on to. It just really calms me down

logic (young sinatra) makeup

So this past weekend I found a new favorite rapper, Logic. His beats are pretty good and some of his songs have jazz elements which I thought was pretty cool. He also uses other rappers songs and then raps over them which I like because I can connect to other rappers through his music. Not only that but he also has a bomb ass voice ans he puts in clips from other things in the middle of his songs like this one song called Stewie where he puts a clip from family guy in the middle. It's really cool and hes not that well known so its cool to know about him.

super commercials make up

I'm one of those people who watch the superbowl for the food and the commericals more than the actual game. I used to care about football and then it sort of went away with time, and realizing that I actually don't want to play football. Definitely the best part about the superbowl is the food. I ate so much god damn food yesterday..I wouldve watched the game if it didn't completely suck, I enjoyed the food there though, can't wait for next year. M'y favorite commercial was the Doritos one we watched in class and the one I disliked the most was thé mozeratti commercial.

lcd sound system

I gotta be honest when we were watching the LCD sound system documentary I didn't really understand the point of it. I enjoyed some of the things that they said but I felt that it didn't need to be put into an entire documentary...I thought that the band black star was good too, I actually kind of enjoyed the music, or so I remember I did. I liked learning about the past and how That sort time rocked out.

fighting for our country

I know this sounds weird but I really kind of wish I grew up expecting to go into the military.I think that going into the military out of highschool would be a plan, maybe not the best plan, but better than how I feel about going out into the real world. I have no idea what I'm going to be doing but I wish I had a better plan for my future. I'm really stressed and I have a lot of respect for people who go into the military and I just think That if you grow up with that mentality then it's easy for you to be prepared for the military, so yeah I wish I was prepared and if that means military, then sure.

Friday, January 10, 2014

So this is for my out of class and I've decided to write about my new favorite rapper, chance the rapper. I think it's partly his badass voice but it just sounds so original and put together and I really enjoy it. I've heard both of his albums, 10 day and acid rap and I think theyre both great and they sound so incredibly different than anything else. I also like Tue

let it be

So about the album Let it Be, I enjoyed it a lot because I've been listening to a lot of Beatles lately when I play video games. I thought it was a lot more rock than a lot of the other albums like my personal favorites, Rubber soul or Revolver. There was a lot more electric guitar I think and it just seemed a little louder to me than some of the other albums. It sounded really nice though and I enjoyed listening to it.
